Do you know Community Coffee? I heard of the company several years ago, and I've been purchasing my coffee from them since then. I have the coffee scoop and the tumbler, and I've sent a gift pack or two to a friend.
I seem to go through phases with coffee: sometimes I'll drink it almost every day, and other times it'll be only once a week or so. Right now I'm on an iced coffee kick. Luckily for me, Community Coffee is good whether it's hot or cold.
I've tried quite a few of the Community Coffee varieties. In addition to the one I just mentioned, I like Cafe Special and 5 Star Hotel Blend. According to the company website, both are full-bodied and medium roast. I'm not a fan of flavored coffees, so I haven't tried those.
We also use the Family Size Tea Bags to make iced tea all summer. I think it's the cleanest, brightest-tasting iced tea I've had. Sometimes we add a raspberry herbal tea bag while it steeps. We don't add any sweetener, but you could.
The real reason I'm writing about this today is to tell you about a really cool program called Military Match. You can learn more at the company website, but this is how it works. Buy one of the Military Match sets (four 12-ounce bags, four 16-ounce bags, or four packs of 18-count single-serve cups). Community Coffee will match your four packages and add a special Military Match mug (the mug might be a limited-time promotion), then send the whole order to the APO/FPO or military base address you supply. What an easy way to support our military by sharing some special coffee with our servicemen and -women!
The Community Coffee website says it this way (italics added):
More than 2.2 million men and women serve in the U.S. military and approximately 400,000 are stationed abroad in one of the 150 countries U.S. military bases are maintained. That’s 2.2 million reasons Community Coffee Company supports U.S. military personnel by doubling orders to ensure servicemen and servicewomen get a cup of home.
“The Military Match program gives us an opportunity to boost the morale of those who give the most to our country – the men and women of the U.S. military. While they’re serving, away from their family and friends, we can now offer them a taste of home every day.”Community Coffee Company has been family-owned and -operated since its founding in 1919; in fact, it's the largest family-owned and -operated coffee company in the United States. The company is based on values like integrity, respect, and uncompromising commitment to quality. In addition to the Military Match program, CCC also supports coffee farmers and local schools.
