Today the writing prompt, as provided by Kate of heading home (again, click the logo below), is KNOW.

We only THINK we know where we're going. It's been said that, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.” To go to the source, we can look at Proverbs 19:21, which says this:
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
When I went for my callback mammogram in the spring of 2011, I thought it would be okay. I found out that it wasn't. I'd had a calendar full of plans, which didn't include having surgery and spending part of every summer day at the hospital for radiation therapy.
I thought I knew, but God had another plan. His prevailed. The trial brought blessings and opportunities that I never could have predicted, but it still brought my plans to a screeching halt.
This week I went for another mammogram. For some reason I was feeling anxious; I'm usually not. I had the feeling that something would be wrong. But instead, I was wrong. (And thank the Lord for that!) Everything looks fine, and I don't have to go back for six months. If that one is okay, I don't have to have another for a full year!
So yes, we can make plans ... as long as we remember that our plans may be interrupted by a plan that's bigger, better, or more important than our own.
