Grateful: Five Minute Friday

This week I'm going to participate in a new linkup.  The premise behind Five Minute Friday, hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker, is to write--in response to a writing prompt--for five minutes, then stop.  No perfectionism allowed.  So here goes:

When I read that the writing prompt is Grateful, my first thought was that I just wrote about being thankful.  Even though this has been a difficult week, I'm still grateful.

Grateful for my husband, even though we sometimes have differences of opinion.

Grateful for my son, even when he doesn't put his dishes in the dishwasher.

Grateful that we live in a beautiful house, even when it's cluttered.

Grateful for my extended family, even though one of them can be difficult to love.

Grateful for the opportunity to homeschool, even if it's probably responsible for some of my gray hair.

Grateful for my friends, even when I have to apologize for something bone-headed that I've done.  Especially when they forgive me.

Grateful for the doctors and hospitals that have cared for us recently, and for the medical insurance that makes it possible.

Grateful that I have a car that gets me around, even though it's old and high-mileage.

What are you grateful for today?

Five Minute Friday

  1. Melissa,
I too homeschool so I chuckled when I read about the gray hair! I know what you mean.
You have many things to be grateful for. Thank you for sharing a few.
    Happy Mother's Day!

  2. I am so grateful for Marc and his job that allows me to be a stay at home mom.
    Have a Happy Mothers Day

  3. I am grateful for living. It's taking a little fighting, but I determined to stay here awhile longer.
