- Last Friday, after my FFF was posted, I received a letter from my surgeon. She said that I was ready to "graduate" into the [breast cancer] survivorship program. I've yet to see exactly what that means, but I think it means fewer doctor visits and fewer mammograms. Yes!
- Since I started my new medication I've lost about seven pounds. I haven't lost any more in the last week--I haven't been as active--but my weight has been stable. I'll take it!
- My husband and I had a great date night on Tuesday. We don't usually go out so early in the week, but we made an exception because of a special Tuesday-only offer at a local restaurant. The tortellini with peas and prosciutto in tomato cream sauce was outstanding. The portions were enormous, which was good because my husband didn't care for the dish he ordered; he shared mine. It's good just to be together, wherever we might be.
- This week my Bible study group was smaller than usual, which was more comfortable for me. I'm quiet enough that I rarely speak up, but this time I did. We are studying 2 Peter using the Wiersbe Be Alert book, and it's all good.
- I love the fragrance of hyacinth. However, it gives my husband a headache. Someone brought a potted hyacinth to church, and I had a chance to stand next to it for a few minutes. I was alone in the room; I assure you that it didn't look weird at all!
What have been the highlights of your week? You can answer in the comments or visit Susanne to link up your own Friday's Fave Five. This is such a happy meme to participate in, and I hope you'll give it a try!
May the fragrance of Christ fill you and follow you wherever you go, now and always!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on graduating to the surviorship program! I hope that does indeed mean fewer dr. visits.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the weight loss, too!
I tend not to say anything in larger groups, either.
I have enjoyed a couple of Wiersbe books - I should look into that one.
I'm afraid hyacinths do terrible things to my sinuses. Glad you got a little time with one!
Love this Fave Five... and so excited to hear about graduating into "I survived..." club. I'll be there soon. :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmm... smelling flowers. Perfect.
One of my Fave Fives for the week... let's see: Having enough energy to feel normal for a bit.
Sounds like a great week and great news about your health!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've ever smelled a hyacinth or even know what it looks like but now I am curious :)
Praise The Lord for your new status with the doctor!! And for your weight loss. That is good news! I'm allergic to hyacinths..or at least the smell gets to me...but I LOVE lilacs!!!! And thankfully I'm ok with that fragrance! I hope you have a very relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteYAY for being ready to "graduate"! Your fifth fave sounds so charming!
ReplyDeleteExciting news for your health! Date nights are wonderful to reconnect. We rarely go out during the week either, but it's a nice change to routine once in a while. Good for you for speaking up at bible study! It's always a blessing when everyone feels comfortable enough to share.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to hear about your new recovery status! Praying you continue to heal well.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed a small Bible study group this week. It's always such an encouragement to meet with other believers- as an introvert I am with you on preferring smaller groups. :o)
I totally agree--it wasn't weird. I've been known to sniff roses and lavender because my hubby is allergic to both and I can't keep them in the house.
ReplyDeleteHurray--I think your best news is your 'graduation'. I love those two words: cancer survivor.
so happy you had a great week...
ReplyDeletelove these posts :)
