It Can Wait

Quick quiz:  What is banned by 39 states in the US, considered dangerous by 89 percent of Americans, yet done by 49 percent of drivers ages 21-24?

If you guessed that it's texting while driving, you're right.  (Statistics are from distraction.gov and textfreedriving.org )

If you're skeptical, try the texting while driving simulator.

If you're concerned, here are a few resources and ideas:
  • Take the pledge not to text and drive.  I did.
  • If you take the pledge, share it with your Facebook friends and/or Twitter followers.
  • Learn more at It Can Wait.
  • If you use an Android device, consider the Safely Go app, which will (among other features) automatically send text messages to say that you're behind the wheel and can't respond immediately.
