When my son was younger, we chose specific items from the World Vision Gift Catalog. It was easier for him to understand that we were giving three ducks, for example, than that we were sending money and didn't know how it would help.
Now he's older and understands that there are needs that we might not see. One way to help with those needs is to give to the World Vision Maximum Impact Fund ("Give Where Most Needed"). Donations given to that fund are used by World Vision to provide for critical needs--such as emergency relief, food aid, and clean water--where the need is greatest. It's also used to alleviate poverty in the United States and for microenterprise development (small loans to help impoverished people build their own businesses).
If you're thinking of giving a donation as a gift, you might be interested in these items, which provide a tangible gift as well as a donation to the Maximum Impact Fund:

So ... to help get the word out, World Vision is giving one reader his/her choice of one of these three items. Would you like to win? Check out the entry methods in RaffleCopter and the Terms and Conditions below. Good luck!
