I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through this book! Best Loved Recipes contains nearly 1500 favorite recipes. Some are easy, and some are more challenging, which makes this a good book for most cooks. In the sidebars are tips and comments on the recipes.
Best Loved Recipes contains 26 chapters. Some are the ones you'd expect: Appetizers, Beef, Pies & Tarts. Some are less common: Celebrations & Holidays, Grand-Prize Winners, Our Contributors' Meals.
Some of the specialized chapters would be very useful for cooks with special circumstances, such as Cooking for One or Two. Mealtime Express has quick meals, and Potluck Picks has given me some ideas (other than lasagna) to take to potluck dinners.
Not every recipe has a photo, but photo sections appear throughout the book, and the photos have page numbers so you can easily locate the corresponding recipes.
Yesterday I baked Home-Style Yeast Bread, and it made two of the highest, lightest, tenderest loaves of bread I'd ever made! This is the smaller of the two, if you can imagine that. I used a little extra yeast, because my yeast was expired, but look at this:
