How We Met ....

Since June is the traditional month for weddings, the topic for today's Faith Barista Jam is Finding "The One."  I am looking forward to reading the stories that everyone links up!

I've shared the story of how I met my husband.  That was almost two years ago; I hope that all three of you who were here then will please bear with me.  For everyone else--and mostly because I am spending this week taking care of some housekeeping (both literal and figurative) before I start radiation treatments--I am going to do an unapologetic copy-and-paste.

However, we both went to the same computer-geek festival at least one year. We went to the same motorsports show one year. When we actually met, though, it was not at a computer fair, a motorsports show, or a race: we met online.

What I realized as I thought about this post was--although I wasn't walking with Christ at the time--everything happened in God's perfect timing. When I was 21 or 25 or 28, the time wasn't right for to meet my husband. I didn't know that at the time, but God did! I still marvel at the knowledge that He was looking out for me, even when I wasn't giving Him a second thought.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

  1. God's ways are mysterious. He has a plan and He knows what He is doing even when we don't quite understand it.

  3. We cannot know God's time table ahead of time. Amazing how God puts us together with a soul mate to love and cherish.
I pray for you as your begin treatments. May you come forth victorious in the after math.
