Outdoor Entertaining with Pier 1

This post brought to you by Pier 1. All opinions are 100% mine.

Spring is here!

Try to overlook the fact that some of us had SNOW on April 1:  spring is officially here, and seasonable weather can't be far behind, right?

So are you starting to think about spending time outdoors--grilling, entertaining, or relaxing?  Are you also thinking about updating your patio, deck, or yard?  If so, be sure to check out what Pier 1 has to offer!

Looking to replace your patio furniture?  I think this Sunset Pier Outdoor Deluxe Chair looks pretty comfortable!  It's designed to look like rattan, but it's constructed of coated iron.  Sounds durable to me!

And whether you're purchasing new furniture or updating what you have, it's easy to find fresh, new styles of cushions at Pier 1.  One of my favorites is this bright-colored Whimsical Garden Chair Cushion:

If you prefer a more subtle design, you might like the Standard Moss Calliope Cushion, which is suitable for either indoor or outdoor use:

Not just cushions are suitable for indoor/outdoor use.  Pier 1 has some rugs that also can be used indoors or outdoors, like this Angelique Rug. (You can also get coordinating Angelique cushions and pillows.)

I think everyone is familiar with the iconic Papasan chair, but now Pier 1 has a cozy-looking indoor/outdoor Double Papasan chair, plus an outdoor Papasan chair (add your choice of cushion). It's affordable and looks comfortable to me!

Finally, if you're looking for just a few accent pieces, how about this set of hanging lanterns? It stands about 9-1/2 inches tall and is just $12.

(Did I ever mention that I love online shopping?  For items not available for online ordering, the Pier 1 website offers the next best thing:  You can check availability at your local store(s) and create a shopping list before you go.)

One more fun thing before I go:  If you live in (or near) Atlanta or New York City, consider attending one of the upcoming Pier 1 Tweetups on April 5 and April 20, respectively.  For all the details, visit .

  1. I love that outdoor furniture. I think that's what I'm going to miss the most about living in an apartment now -- the chance to have a lovely outdoor area that's beautiful and relaxing. Great post.

  2. i heart pier 1...
wish i could go to that tweetup..
but with the boys, i would not even think about attempting it
