Housekeeping: Winners, Blog Break, and 7 Facts Award

ImageChef.com Winners logoI have a few things today, so I'll combine them into one post.

Congratulations to the latest winners!
A couple of weeks ago I said that I'd be taking a semi-break from blogging.  It hasn't worked out that way:  I've been blessed with some fabulous guest posts, which have given me some days off, but I haven't been able to step away completely.  I hope to be able to do that very soon, as the real-life issues haven't subsided at all.

Finally, something more fun!  My blogging friend Noelle gave me this 7 Facts Award!  Thank you for thinking of me, Noelle!

This is how it works:

1 - Copy the Award Picture and add it to your blog

2- Thank and Link back to the person who awarded it to you

3- Share 7 Facts about yourself

4- Give 15 other bloggers this award

So ... seven facts about myself.  Are there really seven things that I haven't already blogged about?  Let's see ...
  1. As a child, I had countless ear infections.  I probably drank more chalky pink antibiotic suspension than milk.
  2. Which reminds me of this little-known and not terribly interesting tidbit:   I've never liked milk, unless it's chocolate.  Even now my husband will remind me to drink enough milk.  (I do take calcium supplements.)
  3. For three years in grade school, I was in a split class.  Our classroom included students from two different grade levels, and the teacher taught the groups separately for most subjects.
  4. I graduated from high school with a large class (600+ students).  Our school had so many students that we only attended school for about 4-1/2 hours a day.  Half of us went in the morning, and half in the afternoon.
  5. I collect cookbooks, but (these days) I get most of my new recipes online!
  6. In school I played clarinet for five or six years.  I still have a clarinet (or two) in the closet, but I haven't played in forever.
  7. I don't believe in lucky numbers, but when I did, my lucky number was always 12.
Now I get to pass along the 7 Facts Award to some of my blogging friends!
  1. Vickie at A Day on the Urban Farm
  2. Michelle at Cross Driven Home
  3. Crystal at Crystal's Cozy Kitchen
  4. Petula at It's a Woman's World!
  5. Cindy from Letters From Midlife
  6. Melynda from Mom's Sunday Cafe
  7. Tammy from Not Just Paper and Glue
  8. Catherine from Our Village is a Little Different
  9. Alea from Premeditated Leftovers
  10. Alexis from Running Away?  I'll Help You Pack.
  11. Melissa from those northern skies
  12. Jamie from Walkin' in High Cotton
I look forward to reading your 7 Facts!

  1. I do hope you are feeling better soon and maybe a break from your blog is just what you need. Eliminate any unneeded stresses in your life. :)

  2. I too had hoped you would feel better soon, if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

  3. Thanks!! I hope the break is beneficial. I will pray for you.

  4. Wow, shifts for high school? That's pretty cool and gigantic! LOL

I haven't done one of these in ages so it'll be fun.

I do hope you get a longer break soon. More than likely you're going to have to put your foot down and realize some things are just gonna have to wait and everything will be okay. I wish you lived closer because you could come over here while the kids are gone from Friday night to Wednesday morning this week and enjoy my silence with me. :-)

  5. Congrats everyone!

Thanks sweetie for the award your the best!

  6. Yay!
I am so glad you did this...
As it let me learn more about you!
First of all, ear infections... ME TOO!
ALWAYS.. Tubes in ears 3 times!
Milk - ME TOO! Hate it, unless its chocolate or left over from cereal! :)
I love that your classes (seem) small to the point of putting 2 classes in the same room... but such a large graduating class that there were 600 and you only went part days? how did that work? did you go the whole year... jealous... I THINK :)

I love to hear what you're thinking, so thank you for leaving a comment!
