- At the end of last week, I called the doctor to report the side effects of my new meds. She advised a couple of changes and, a week later, I'm feeling somewhat better. At least I'm not having headaches all day, almost every day!
- For the month of February, I dedicated my blog to the theme of love. I enjoyed the theme, and it was refreshing to take a break from my usual routine. I appreciate the contributions of my friends Meri, Michelle, and Tammy!
- Last month I experimented with making raspberry cake frosting. All I did was make vanilla buttercream (with a little less milk than usual), then add a spoonful or two of seedless raspberry jam and mix it in. It makes a lovely shade of pink and tastes delicious, too! This week I made a batch of chocolate cupcakes with raspberry frosting ... SO good!
- No more snow! Even the snowpiles that were taller than me have melted away.
- New shoes, on sale. Need I say more? :)

sounds like a great week! i gave up cake years ago but a yummy cupcake once in a while is always yummy!
ReplyDeleteWas the frosting really as easy as that sounded? Because I'm not much of a cook, but that sounded both delicious and easy--which is right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteGlad that med are working out better. Thoughts and prayers.
New shoes on sale? Now that is definitely a favorite of mine!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your week has been better and that the med changes were successful. Headaches all day every day are so draining.
And now I want a chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting!
Glad you had a more uneventful week, Melissa. Feeling better is a blessing—thanking God for that. And new shoes? On sale? Good for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you have found a medication that works for you.
ReplyDeleteChocolate cupcakes with raspberry frosting sounds wonderful. I'll have to try it.
Yay for new shoes! Double Yay for on sale! LOL
Chocolate and raspberry -- a perfect combination. It sounds like a very happy week -- chocolate and new shoes. It doesn't get any better than that!
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of the fave five! It makes for a fun post. Love the verse of the day in your sidebar. Today's was Joshua 1:9--great verse!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! It sounds like a great week for you. That frosting sounds lovely. I'm glad that things were looking up for you this week! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou really do have a lot to be thankful for this week! So glad you are feeling better, and new shoes are always wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMelissa,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a good week. I am glad you are not suffering with headaches. I get chronic migraines and lose days. Sugar is a big trigger there is very little in my life and I would have to pass on the raspberry frosted chocolate cupcakes although they sound delicious. NJ snow is gone but history has proven we may have one last storm before spring. I hope not. I want to get out in my garden! The highlight of my week is finally finishing stage one of my bathroom renovation!
Deborah
So glad you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I live in an area with not much snow! Glad yours is melting.

ReplyDeleteis it wrong i am more excited about your cupcakes than your shoes? lol
Chocolate and Raspberries are one of my favorite combos. It is my favorite coffee flavor. The next time I make chocolate cupcakes (with 2 kids that will be sooner than later) I am going to do as you suggested and make some raspberry icing! Thanks for the great idea. And thank you for taking the time to visit my blog:-)
ReplyDeleteSo great to hear about the meds being adjusted and making a difference! Raspberry frosting? I would love to try that. Glad the snow is melting and SHOES ON SALE = YIPPEE! lol
ReplyDeleteNew shoes? Cake? Raspberry icing? No snow? That's all Fabulous! But not nearly as good as a headache free week, and feeling good physically. I hope you have another great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad she took care of the headache problem - too many headaches and I don't care what the meds are supposed to do, they don't work!!
