We've had a fairly quiet week, with a snow day right in the middle of it. In fact, I haven't been farther than the mailbox since Sunday. But you'll see that in my Fave Five list:
- Our church is offering two new classes, both of which sound excellent. My husband and I chose one to attend together, and the first session was wonderful!
- I came across this recipe for Tiny Spicy Chicken through Menu Plan Monday. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds really good to me!
- Answered prayer ... God gave me exactly the right verse, exactly when I needed it.
- Overnight Caramel Banana French Toast is perfect for a snow day! I prepared it on Tuesday night and baked it Wednesday morning, while DH and Mooseman were outside clearing the snow (we got about eight or ten inches, this time). On the other hand, this is as far as I ventured out that day:
- Every wire whisk I've owned has rusted. Finally, I got a silicone one. It's heat-resistant to 500F, it's dishwasher-safe, and it can't rust. This week I used it to whisk eggs and to stir gravy. It's not a big deal, just a little thing that makes life a little bit easier. :)
That banana french toast sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the Tiny Spicy Chicken like we did! :) Praise God for answered prayer! God is so good!
ReplyDeleteCaramel banana french toast - yum! Glad you have that silicone wire whisk. I'd be happy to have it too if I did any kitchen job nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look for a silicone whisk -- my wire ones rust out, too. Neat invention! Haven't had French toast in ages.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty much housebound due to snow for much of this week.
Neat that you and your husband can take a class at church together!
Thanks for sharing the recipes - always on the lookout for something new.
ReplyDeleteI'm very particular about my kitchen gadgets. After all, homemakers need the correct tools, just like other occupations! I myself prefer stainless steel whisks, but I totally understand how a new whisk can be a favorite!
I *love* it when our church puts out the new class lists! And awesome that you loved the first class.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't Menu Plan Monday great? I have found so many great recipes through that site.
That French Toast sounds really, really yummy. I'm definitely going to have to try that. And I just got a silicone whisk for Christmas (my first, too) -- love it!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, that french toast sounds amazing! I loved that photo of how far you ventured on your snow day... :)
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing silly about loving your whisk--having the best tool for the job just makes sense.
I love Menu Plan Monday too! Really helps build my menu plan for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to try your chicken recipe for sure!
Love your snow pics. No snow here! That banana bread french toast sounds tasty! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThat chicken recipe looks delicious! I love my silicon whip too, but even they tend to wear out over time.
ReplyDeleteThat’s wonderful that you and your husband have a great class to attend together. Go, God, for giving you the verse when you needed it!
ReplyDeleteThe silicone wisk—sometimes it's the little things that bring great joy. :-)
I thought about your recipe this week and if I would make it. How did it turn out? BTW I couldn't make it as BH came home with green very green bananas, kids over today and they are just perfect- gone.
ReplyDeleteNice whisk, I had to do the same. I think you just can't get them dry enough.
I love your fav's. Very cool. I hate when stuff rusts. It's just plain annoying. Our problem is our baking sheets...always rusting. So annoying. And yes, little things do make life easier!
ReplyDeleteso, i am totally going to get that wisk!
ReplyDeleteours has rust, so it doesn't get used!
Thanks for the reminder about the french toast...
was going to make it and then i forgot about it
#5--Ha! Ha! I don't know what I would do without a wisk. It's the only reason my kids like to help cook breakfast with me. :)
