Adding shovelfuls of slushy snow onto piles already taller than me
Aching back, sore arms, legs so tired that I feel as though I can't walk another step

So far this winter, we've gotten more than 37 inches of snow. After this next storm, we'll be more than halfway toward the record-breaking total of the winter of 1995-96, when New York City got almost 76 inches.I remember that winter, and I hope we don't come anywhere near breaking that record! So in the midst of clearing the driveway on Wednesday afternoon, I decided to focus on the blessings rather than the aches. So I came up with a list of reasons to appreciate the snow and ice storm:
- Free microdermabrasion from the ice pellets beating on my face
- My son Mooseman, who knows the routine and worked hard to help me clear the snow
- The town snow-plow driver who saw me working and offered to come back and make another pass, closer to the curb. He came by three more times.
- This totally counts as my workout for today!
- Ibuprofen and a hot shower
I just looked at a weather video and it showing that the majority of the people out your way were thrilled with all of the snow. Seriously! #3 was amazingly sweet but they all did give me a little chuckle.
ReplyDeleteLove Love your winter pictures! Your lighthearted list is as important as a long list. Dont take that away from yourself! I would encourage you to still link up!! I loved stopping by and reading your post!! hugs
ReplyDeleteYeah its supposed to snow here again too. I'm waiting for spring. I think all this cold and snow is really messing up my mood. The sun doesn't shine much in this state either, so its really hard. February is usually the snowiest month here but I don't know how that could be...we've got over 30 inches here already this year. I think a vacation is in order. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a great snowplow driver - how nice of him. I won't remind you where I live...
ReplyDeleteHappy winter to you!
I know what you mean about hefting the snow onto huge piles...we are so there. We've had a lot of snow this winter and we've only had two days above freezing since the first snow in Nov.
ReplyDeleteI love the microabrasion reasoning. :)
I remember the snow of 95/96. I got out of school for like 2 weeks!!! :) I loved the sound of the ice pellets last night. Thanks for the visit today. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of snow. It's been more than 10 years since I've experienced that. Love the free microderma!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad he came back to plow, that is a great blessing.
Is it discouraging when the plow returns so many times? ya. It can also be discouraging to have so much snow. I remember one year as the worst ever, seems snow is a way of making memories. Love your list
ReplyDeletethat was nice of the snow plow man...
ReplyDeletelol, i would not know what to do...
guess that is why this country girl has stayed down south...
at least you are safe and have your family...
been watching the news and feel so bad for all you northerners that are dealing with this nasty winter weather...
