Happy Homemaker Monday - December 20

For today I decided to try something new:  I'm linking up with Sandra for Happy Homemaker Monday.

The weather in my neck of the woods:  I'm writing this on Sunday, and the forecast for Monday is cold!  Lower 30s, probably.

Things that make me happy:  Anything that helps me stay warm in cold weather:  hot coffee, flannel, and comfy sweats

Book I'm reading:  I've been busy and not reading much lately.

What's on my TV today:  Um, nothing.  I don't watch a lot of TV, and I rarely look at what's coming up.

On the menu for dinner:  Hot dogs.  (It's a busy week, so I'm going for the super-easy dinner tonight!)

On my To Do List:  Grocery shopping, doing laundry, baking cookies, and having blood drawn for routine lab work

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon: Working on a variation of chocolate raspberry crumb bars that will include coconut

In the craft basket: I always have scrapbooking to catch up, but I'm not even thinking about it right now.

Looking forward to this week:  Family time

Tips and Tricks:  When I make a list of the Christmas cookies I plan to bake, I add these details next to each item:  source of the recipe, special ingredients (e.g., sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese), and prep notes (e.g., soften butter).

My favorite blog post this week:  Approve of Me?, by Sarah Mae at Like a Warm Cup of Coffee

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers): @stickyJesus is the blog/website associated with a book with the same title.  So it's not a "mom blog," but it's the newest addition to my blog roll.

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share): Last week Cindy shared a photo of a beautiful spider web.  It reminded me of this one.

Lesson learned the past few days: I need more sleep than I've been getting, and I need to address that.

On my mind:  I'll never finish my to-do list before Christmas.  Which items are the most important?

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:  "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)  One of my favorite verses, this was printed in the Christmas cards we sent this year.

  1. Beautiful list!! I think this is my first time reading your blog too. I hope I will be able to read more of it! I have been doing my best to stay off the computer so much, it was taking too much time away from the housework and my daughter.
Love your tips and tricks too! And that verse is beautiful!
    Have a Merry Christmas!

Completely agree with your lesson learned, it's one I'm trying to address myself. I also like your tips, that is a great idea, I'll have to use that in the future :)
