While Mooseman was helping with the gift wrapping, he had a creative and frugal idea of how to wrap a particularly bulky gift. He turned a shopping bag inside out and put the gift inside, then decorated it with a "bow" made of all the wrapping paper scraps he could find. Pretty neat, isn't it?
On Tuesday I found out that I won a fun giveaway from Genny at MyCup2Yours: a 5 x 7 photoverse print from Robin at Around the Island Photography! I wasn't certain whether my chosen verse would fit on a certain photo, but Robin was terrific about helping me work it out. This is what she came up with (and I chose):

I'm looking forward to getting my print! Thanks to Robin and Genny for the chance to win! If you'd like, you can see more of Robin's photography at her Etsy shop and at her blog.
How are you doing with your holiday preparations? How do you keep from getting overwhelmed with all the trappings of Christmas?
I would love to hear how the pumpkin roll turned out. :) I like your son's idea of how to wrap bulky gifts. It looks really cute :)
ReplyDeleteI am not doing much this year. I am not having my in-laws over (mostly their choice though since they can't tell me straight agree not to let person who are high on drugs in my house), I'm not doing anything with my siblings, so it will just be our family. It feels somewhat empty, but I guess that is ok. I would love to make new traditions, but I'm just out of it. Maybe next year. We may go see some friends on Christmas Eve. We'll see. I feel like a quiet holiday might be a good one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention Melissa, I'm so glad you're pleased with your Photoverse - you'll like the real one even better :). If anyone's interested, I just added a few brand new Photoverse prints to the shop - step inside the photos with me and walk where Jesus walked.
ReplyDeleteLove that wrapping paper bow, what a clever idea.

The pumpkin roll sounds delicious! I'm always tempted to try one, but then I never follow through, thinking that the cake part will just fall apart when I try to roll it up. How hard is that part? Do you do anything special to keep it all intact as you roll?
ReplyDeleteAlso, very clever idea on the gift wrap! I'm very in to alternative wraps this year. I wrote a page of gift wrap ideas for my website, LaughingWallet.com, and now I don't even want to do regular wrap on anything! lol!
What a brilliant gift wrapping idea.
ReplyDeleteMy preparations are scooting along. Crafting for school is done and now I am working on photos from the wedding and getting ready to go to CA.
congrats on the win.
ReplyDeletelove the print!
