Bits and Pieces: From My Inbox

My e-mailbox has been overflowing with great stuff this week!  Time-saving, money-saving, or just plain fun ... I wanted to share some of them with you!
  • Lands' End 12 Days of Twitter Event:  Every day through December 17, Lands' End will host a festive Twitter event at which followers can hear about deals and win prizes.  It's at noon (Eastern).  Just follow @LandsEndPR and use hashtag #landsend to join in.
  • DailyFeats:  The official description says that DailyFeats is a new online social platform for people to share the positive actions, or the feats, that they do. With valued partners like 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, DailyFeats’ goal is to help people improve their lives via simple but meaningful feats that benefit the body, mind, home and community. DailyFeats awards points for the feats people do and share, which can then be redeemed for rewards, savings and gifts from leading local and national brands. Doing good and spreading cheer is easy, fun and rewarding at DailyFeats.  I haven't looked at it thoroughly yet, because it's brand-new.  In fact, it's still in beta.  But since you know me, you can click the link above and try it for yourself. :)
  • How to Make Perfect Cookies:  Kraft Delicious Days has a new video series, and this one's about how to make perfect cookies, as well as how to store and freeze them.  There is also still time to enter the Delicious Home Makeover Sweepstakes for a chance to win $2,500.
  • Christmas Seals:  Did you know that Christmas Seals was created in 1907 as a fundraising effort to save a hospital aiding those with tuberculosis? The hospital had fallen on tough times but the Christmas Seals fundraiser helped to raise ten times the goal needed to save it!  And thus, the American Lung Association Christmas Seals was born.  To learn more about Christmas Seals, to send an e-card, to share your own story, or to download free activity sheets for kids, visit the Christmas Seals website.
  • Retro Runway:  This one isn't from my e-mailbox, but I wanted to mention it.  The Retro Runway blog party linky will remain open until Friday night (about midnight, Eastern).  I would love it if you'd link up! :)
Disclosure:  I have not received compensation for sharing any of these items with you.  I have, however, been given the opportunity to give a gift from 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, at no cost to me.

  1. TB was such a big problem back then. I hear from the news that it's making a come back.

and way to go on the 1800 flowers! :)
