I whipped the cream with a little vanilla and a little sugar, then layered it into a container with the chocolate wafers. When I ran out of wafers, I spread the remaining whipped cream over the top. We didn't try it until it had been in the refrigerator for about 24 hours.
The dessert tasted wonderful: similar to cookies-and-cream ice cream, but with more cookies and not as cold. (I didn't try freezing it.) However, it didn't look beautiful: by the time I spooned it into bowls, it was sort of just mush.
Next time, I'm going to try to make it in the form of a cake. You can see an example of a cake here and a mini-cake here (the owners of those photos don't allow downloads)--and here's one used as a birthday cake:

ReplyDeleteI bet it was wonderful! What's not to love about whipped cream and chocolate cookies?!? The "cake" version does look pretty!
