Friday's Fave Five - November 5

FFF fall background
It's time again for Friday's Fave Five, in which we share the five best parts of the past week.  Thanks for stopping by to read my list!
  1. Last weekend my husband and I went out on a date.  We went out to lunch, drove along the coastline for a little while, then stopped at a boardwalk arcade to play games.  It was low-key but so good to have that time together.
  2. I had another good doctor appointment.  He is pleased with my progress.  He made some minor adjustments to my medications, but otherwise, everything is good.  I am feeling much better this week than I was last week. :)
  3. I won a gift certificate to CSN Stores from Together We Save.  I did a bit of browsing, but I haven't yet decided what to purchase.  With Christmas approaching, I have many options!
  4. This week I am especially thankful for friends with whom I can be real--and who are honest with me.  I have been on both sides of difficult conversations this week, and it's good to know that "Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy" (Prov 27:6, NLT).  Even if I was hurt, even if I don't agree with what she said, I know she has my best interests at heart.
  5. Thursday was a rainy day, and I had the luxury of staying home.  I don't mind the rain, but it's even better when I can stay warm and cozy while watching the rain through the window.

  11. My husband and I finally went out on a date ourselves last weekend. It was so pleasant. We have another opportunity tonight, but I think we’ll spend it at home. That can be fun, too.

So glad you had another good doctor appointment.

You are gracious to be willing to give credit to your friend, even though you were hurt by her words. That makes you very special!

And although sometimes it's tough (your 4th fave) it is good that you have friends who share.....and care....and we don't always have to agree with our friends!

  17. I really like the idea of looking back on the week to find good things...the more we notice the good, the more we can tolerate the bad.
