Friday's Fave Five: August 27

FFF logo
Thanks for stopping by to read the highlights of my week. It's been a significantly better week than last week!

Before I forget, here's the recipe for the free-form peach tart I mentioned last Friday.
  1. I've been feeling better.  It's a bit shaky, since I'm still adjusting to a new medication, but it's good to be smiling! :)
  2. My family went to a Matt Maher concert, and it was fabulous.  I was able to immerse myself in worship, and it was a great blessing.
  3. I found three new recipes that I'm looking forward to trying:  green chili chicken enchiladas, taquitos, and pork carnitas.  Can you tell what kind of food I'm craving? :)
  4. We finally had some cooler weather!  I'll gladly take clouds and drizzly rain if the temperatures stay around 70 degrees.
  5. I have been reading Running Around (and Such)and thoroughly enjoying the story.  I'll post a review soon, but for now I'll tell you that it's been a book in which I can immerse myself and escape for a little while. (Edited 8/30/10 to add review link.)

  5. That's good to hear that you are feeling better.
The recipes sound great and I love reading books that are set in Amish country. I'm actually reading a Beverly Lewis novel right now and really enjoying it.
    happy weekend.

  6. I LOVE Mexican food! Glad you're feeling better. I've enjoyed a bit of cooler weather, too, and and looking forward to more.

  7. Thankful you are feeling well enough to be smiling! Oh—I love Matt Maher. I’ve been listening to his newest CD the past two weeks over and over. I would have thoroughly enjoyed the concert, I’m sure. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  8. Adjusting to medication is no fun at all. Glad the smiles are back though and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  9. Thanks for the recipe. It look easy and delicious! Glad to hear you're feeling better. Don't you love what worship music does to your spirit?

    Cooler weather? Oh, I wish!

  10. Glad you are doing better. That book looks really interesting. I will be looking for your review ;)

  11. Glad you are feeling better and that you are adjusting to your medication. We are having cooler weather, too. Glad you could enjoy a worship concert...
    Have a great weekend.

  12. I am glad you are feeling better. I hit a low around the weekend because I forgot to take my meds for a couple of days (I can't figure out why I find it so hard to remember).

    I love chicken taquitos. Yum!!

I will be interested to read your review of this book. I am reading a docu-book about the Amish Rumspringa right now.

  13. You crave the same kind of food that I always do! I just can't get enough of Mexican food.

While you have cooler weather we have been enjoying warmer weather in San Francisco, its funny how that goes :)

  14. First the Random Dozen meme on Wednesday has a question about Mexican food and now your talking Mexican food. I am so going to have make tacos for supper tomorrow! :v)

Your peach tart recipe looks wonderful. I'm planning on giving it a try when I can get some nice peaches on sale.

After having the hottest day of the year yesterday we had quite a bit cooler today. It was wonderful!

  15. Mexican food and a good book? Priceless! I'm glad you are feeling better.

  16. So glad you are feeling better and I hope the new meds work well for you!

    Mmmmm...Mexican food.

A good book in which to escape is a treasure!

I'd like temperatures a little higher than the 70's for more than two days in a row! but then, your average summer temps are probably much higher than ours.

  17. Glad you are feeling better. sorry I haven't commented more. I need to get rid of "extras" in my life...I have 3 blogs...I think I should part with one, but I just can't. All that to say...I'm too busy!

  18. great FFF list....glad you're better....enjoy the cooler temps!

  19. glad you are doing better.
    love that you are smiling...
    smiles are contagious!
