The Classics: All You Need to Know (Review - Giveaway Closed)

In school, I was one of the few students who took Latin.  Actually, in the first year the class was nearly full, but by the third year, there were about five of us left.  My least-favorite part of the class was learning ancient history.  I just couldn't remember the names, the sequence of events, and who fought who.  Fortunately, just before the test, a friend from my church youth group taught me the history in such an entertaining way that I passed the test with flying colors.

If you don't have a friend who can make the assassination of Julius Caesar into a comedy routine, if you want to brush up on ancient history, or if you'd like to fill in the gaps in your knowledge of ancient history, there's The Classics: All You Need to Know, from Zeus's Throne to the Fall of Rome (Caroline Taggart).

In about 175 pages, the author covers topics ranging from classical languages, mythology, and inventions to ancient history, literature, and philosophy.  I did not fact-check the content, which would be a daunting task, considering how much is in this book.  But I can tell you that the information is presented clearly and concisely, and I enjoyed reading it.
