See Clearly and Save at Zenni Optical

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Zenni Optical. All opinions are 100% mine.

How do you save money?  For my family, that question has several answers.  We shop sales:  generally, if it's not on sale, we don't buy it.  We stock up when that's feasible.  We try not to pay more than necessary for items we need.  And we regularly ask ourselves, Do we need this?

Sometimes, the answer to that question is Yes.  When my husband and I noticed that our vision wasn't as clear as it had been, we knew it was time for new glasses.

We have a fantastic optometrist in our town.  What we don't love, however, are the prices of eyeglasses in his shop.  While he has some frames that are more reasonably priced than others, the glasses are still $99 and up.  Now that I need multi-focal lenses, the price is even higher:  my first pair with progressive (no-line multi-focal) lenses cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $350.  Ouch.  This year, when my eye exam showed only a minor change in prescription, I decided to live with my old glasses for another year.

After a little more thought and discussion, though, we decided to try Zenni Optical.  I ordered two pairs of single-vision glasses for my husband, plus a pair of progressives for me, and we paid about $56.  Seriously.  My husband's glasses were $8.00 a pair.  My glasses--even with lenses for astigmatism and anti-reflective coating--were about $35.  We paid $4.95 shipping for the entire order.

The Zenni Optical website and ordering system aren't the slickest ones around.  But we had no trouble with it, and the glasses arrived exactly as we'd ordered them.  I think the quality is fine, and it's good to have glasses that I don't have to handle with kid gloves.

If you're shopping for eyeglasses, don't overlook Zenni Optical.

  1. wow...
    thanks for the heads up!
before marc deployed, i made him go get his eyes checked! lol, i wanted him to see to stay safe!
we both ended up needing new glasses... and we bought the cheapest ones that they had... still cost us about $300!
yes, i am still mad at that...
now, i am all about wearing my contacts, cheaper in my opinion

  2. I really need - and want! - a new pair of glasses. I have to make note of this so I can remember the next time I'm shopping. I've been thinking about getting my second pair as sunglasses so I may get them from a site like this.

  3. HOLY moly that rocks! You know how I love a new pair of glasses. It's like my accessories :).

You'll have to show a pic of your new glasses. Thanks for the deal place :)

  4. I am looking into buying glasses online. My dh recently went to the optometrist and spent close to $400.00. Yikes!
We are trying to find ways to cut costs.
