Mission Menus Challenge Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Mission Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

grilled burritos
When my family is looking for a fun dinner, we often think of Mexican food! This photo shows a pulled pork grilled burrito, but we have chicken fajitas, oven-fried chimichangas, cheese quesadillas, or bean burritos on a regular basis, too.

We prefer flour tortillas to corn tortillas, and I nearly always purchase Mission flour tortillas from the dairy department of my supermarket.  [They contain 0 grams Trans fat per serving and are cholesterol free. They are available in small (6"), medium (8") and large (10”) sizes in major grocery stores nationwide.]  I keep a few packages on hand at all times, because they're so convenient for quick meals.  And for frugality, it's hard to beat a yummy flour tortilla stuffed with beans and onions!  (You can find more frugal recipes and ideas at the MissionMenus site.)

It's also good to know that Mission Foods supports Share Our Strength, the leading national organization committed to ending childhood hunger in America.  To support Share Our Strength and to kick off the summer, Mission Foods is sponsoring the Mission Menus Challenge

In the Challenge, Chef Sara Moulton is encouraging consumers to submit their budget-friendly recipes at Mission Menus Challenge for a chance to compete in a cook-off in Los Angeles and win a $10,000 dream kitchen makeover as well as a host of weekly prizes.  The grand prize winner will win round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to the Mission Menus Challenge Cook-off on September 10, 2010 at the Hard Rock CafĂ© in Los Angeles.

Recipes can be submitted from now until August 9, and the requirements are very simple.  All recipes must:
  • Include Mission Flour Tortillas
  • Be original
  • Feed a family of five for $10 or less
Have an idea? (I'm not naming names, but I can think of at least a few of you who probably do!)  Find the complete rules and submit your entry at Mission Menus Challenge.
