Intelligence Report: Car Safety, Smart Financial Decisions, Garage Sale Tracker

This week my inbox is overflowing with good resources to share with you!  Rather than overwhelm you with several posts today, I'll combine them into one.  Be sure to read to the end so you don't miss anything!

More Mileage
You've heard me talk, on more than one occasion, about the Uniroyal More Mileage for Your Money site. One new addition to the site is a free e-book called Mommy's Guide to Cars and Tires.  The book offers tips on car and tire maintenance for both safety and savings.

While you're there, you might want to check out the fun Fourth of July ideas.  And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's already hearing, "Mom!  I'm bored!"  If you're in the same boat, you might find some helpful ideas for frugal family fun, too.

You've probably heard plenty of ads that promise to get you out of debt fast!  Some of these "solutions" can do more harm than good.  If you need help, it's important to research and understand your options before making a decision.  The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies (AICCCA) want to help you find real help, not gimmicks.  Learn more consumer tips for evaluating debt settlement companies and questions to ask when considering debt settlement.

Finally, I wanted to mention this even though it was linked from the garage sale tips that I mentioned in my Frugal Friday post last week.  Garage Sales Tracker is set up to be helpful to both buyers and sellers.  If you're shopping, it's free to find garage sales, get driving directions, and more.  If you're selling, you can advertise your yard sale for extra exposure.  The latest addition to the site is an iPhone app that allows you to plan your shopping day, find nearby sales, contact sellers, and more.

Disclosure:  I have received no compensation in any form for this post.
