Sweet Kathleen's Cookbook (Review)

A week or two ago, I blogged about winning a copy of Sweet Kathleen's Cookbook through a contest at the Foodie Blogroll.  Well, the book arrived a few days ago, and I can't wait to start baking from the recipes!

This is not a book of fancy or elaborately decorated cakes. In fact, this is the entire table of contents:

My family would almost always prefer a good, old-fashioned cake over a fancy one. When we have a chance for a leisurely breakfast or brunch, I like to make a coffee cake. So I'm often looking for new recipes, and this book has a lot that I'm eager to try! I think my first will be Raspberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake, although Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake won't be far behind.

Beyond coffee cakes, I'm looking at Fresh Blueberry Pound Cake Loaf, Chocolate Raspberry Loaf, Coconut Pound Cake, and German Chocolate Pound Cake, just for starters.

Hungry yet? Kat has just posted her Strawberry Loaf Cake recipe on her blog.  If you browse through her blog, you'll find at least a few more recipes from the book.  And if you're interested in purchasing the book, you'll find a link for that, too.
