"I prayed that God would make me transparent with others because for so many years I allowed fear and insecurity to rule me. I did not trust that I was 'good enough' for God to use me. ... But the truth is, God is calling out to be our strength, and if we think we are enough, we have no need for a Savior. I no longer hide my weaknesses because in my weakness, He is made strong."The cover photos of The Real Thing remind me of country music. Indeed, the music has a country flavor, but with a message of praise, worship, and trusting God in all circumstances. I really like the sound and the lyrics of these songs. You can hear a few of the songs through the widget below, and more at Shannon's web store (scroll down to The Real Thing).

Shannon's conference for women is called If the Shoe Fits, and she seeks to explore practical ways for women to live a Godly life. (Click on the conference title to learn more and to watch a fun, inspiring video clip.) She is also using the event series to support Dress for Success, a worldwide charitable organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Shannon is on Facebook, Twitter, Crosswalk.com, BlogTalkRadio, and her own blog. Visit her website to find those links or to order The Real Life.
