We made a few changes to last week's menu plan. The stir-fry turned out to be pork instead of chicken (because pork was on sale), and we had meatloaf (from the freezer) instead of flounder (because I forgot to buy flounder!). I hope this week's plan won't need to be modified, but we'll see how it goes!
Since pork was on sale last week, I cooked about six pounds of it in the slow cooker. I used a combination of the recipe my sister gave me and the one that Alea posted last week. After the meat was cooked and cooled, I chopped it and divided it among freezer bags. I poured off the pan drippings, chilled the liquid to let it gel, then added that to the bags. I'll use one of those packages of meat on Tuesday.
Here's the plan for this week:
Monday: Eggplant rollantini (from the freezer), homemade breadWhat's on your menu for this week? To link up, or to see many more menu plans, click the logo at the top of this post.
Tuesday: "Pulled" pork grilled burritos (meat from the freezer), refried beans, rice
Wednesday: Bratwurst sandwiches, macaroni salad, veg TBD
Thursday: Pepperoni and onion pizza
Friday: Hamburgers, oven fries, broccoli
Oh I keep telling myself that I'm going to do this. It would make life so much easier I know!
ReplyDeletethis sounds like a menu my teens would love as well
ReplyDeleteMy 10 year old daughter loves those oven fries. She loves when I let her pick the spices for them. :)
ReplyDeleteI've realized that I shouldn't be looking at these menus when I haven't eaten anything. LOL!! It's all my tummy grumbly!
Pulled pork burritos sound so yummy! I tried doing this a few years back but I don't have the patience.
ReplyDeleteA great plan! My ideas of weekly meals change too.
