Happy 101

I have to tell you, I have the best bloggy friends ever!

Lately, I've been feeling discouraged.  Then, over the last few days, I received this blog award from not one but two bloggy friends!  Thank you to RedKathy and Noelle for putting a smile on my face--especially at a time when I really, really needed it!

These are the rules for this award:  1. Copy and paste the award on your blog. 2. List who gave the award to you and link to their blog. 3. List 10 things that make you happy. 4. Pass the award on to other bloggers and visit their blog to let them know.

Ten things that make me happy:
  1. My husband.  If you read my blog regularly, you know all about how wonderful he is!
  2. My son.  He's imaginative and fun to be with.
  3. My church family.  Whether we're worshipping, working, or just hanging out, the time we spend together is uplifting.  The opportunity to lift each other up in prayer is a tremendous blessing.
  4. The rest of my family, my RL friends, and my bloggy friends.  I appreciate how each one enriches my life.
  5. Baking.  I love to bake, especially when I'm baking for family or friends.
  6. Papercrafting.  It's a big project to bring out all the supplies, so I don't do this as often as I'd like.  But when I do have a chance to make cards or work on a scrapbook, it makes me happy.
  7. The Internet.  (I'm totally stealing this one from Noelle's list.)  Email makes it so much easier to keep in touch with my sister, my friend who lives out of state, and even our local friends.  I enjoy reading blogs, looking up trivia ("That actor looks so familiar!  Where have we seen him before?"), finding new recipes, shopping (shhh ... don't tell my husband! LOL), and more.
  8. Carbohydrates.  I think I could live without meat as long as I could eat pasta, bread, potatoes, and desserts.
  9. Exercise.  (Don't laugh!)  I'd never found a way to stay motivated, until recently.  The new stationary bike is fun to use.  Even more significantly, a friend reminded me that aerobic exercise releases endorphins--natural substances that make us feel happy.  It works for me!  And with #7 and #8 on this list, I can use all the exercise I can get.
  10. Quiet time.  The best--and most important--part of my day is the time I spend alone with the Lord.  Prayer and Bible study help me to focus on what's truly important.
Pass it on:

All of the blogs I read make me happy!  You'll find many of them in my blog roll (currently in the right sidebar).  I can't choose just ten, so this is what I'm going to do.  If my things that make me happy list could contain 11 items, the additional item would be comments on my blog.  So if you comment on this post, this award is for you!
