I bake all the time, but my husband's birthday cakes never turn out right! Why does that happen? This time I had a frosting dilemma: no matter how much I mixed it, it was pourable instead of spreadable. I finally set it aside and made a batch of buttercream so I could finish the cake.On the bright side, the birthday dinner turned out well. And my husband received this fun flower arrangement that I'd won through a Twitter contest from 1-800-Flowers.
We have countless reasons to feel blessed, and I'm not complaining. I just wish that--at least once--I could make him a beautiful birthday cake!

You probably try too hard because you keep thinking that it won't turn out. I'm sure the cake was delicious and much appreciate anyway! Tell your DH happy birthday :)
Isn't that just so frustrating when something doesn't turn out right...especially on a special occasion? Happy birthday to your husband. Love that cute little flower arrangement!!!
Hope your husband's birthday was a great one! I love the cupcake. That is so cute! I have the same problem too. If I was just making it randomly it would be the most beautiful thing but let me try to make something for a special occasion and it looks horrible!
