Enter the PUR Flavor Options Pitcher. It filters out common contaminants--while not removing the fluoride--and leaves the water tasting fresh and clean. I think the result tastes like bottled water, and I find that I'm drinking a lot more water now that we're using the PUR pitcher.
The other special feature of the PUR Flavor Options Pitcher is the option to add flavor--or not--to each glass you pour. When the flavor cartridge is inserted, you simply press the button to add flavor. Each press of the button adds just a little flavor, so you can adjust the intensity of the flavor by the number of times you press the button. The flavors are sweetened with acesulfame K and sucralose, so you get the sweetness without calories or carbohydrates. I like the lemon flavor, but I love that it's an option: I use it about every third glass of water, and the rest of my family prefers unflavored water all the time.
I haven't comparison-shopped for the pitcher, the replacement filters, or the flavor cartridges, but the Amazon prices will give you an idea of the cost:
- Pitcher with 1 flavor cartridge $20.16
- Replacement filters, pack of 3 (each lasts 1-2 months, or about 40 gallons) $19.99
- Flavor cartridges, pack of 2 (each cartridge flavors up to 75 servings) $8.99
If you'd like to try the PUR Flavor Options Pitcher, you have two choices:
Buy it at Amazon or one of the many retailers that sell PUR products. I just searched for local retailers on the PUR website and found listings for Kmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart, and Sears, as well as the pharmacies, home improvement stores, and warehouse stores.
Win it - Thanks to PUR, one Frugal Creativity reader will win a PUR Flavor Options Pitcher.

Disclosure: I received the PUR Flavor Options Pitcher and a 2-pack of flavor cartridges, at no cost to me, for review purposes. I had the opportunity to participate in this review and giveaway because of my membership at The Product Review Place.
About all I drink anymore is water. I was drinking alot of diet coke just because it says diet doesn't mean it helps you lose weight. But I hate our tap water. So it would definetly be for cleaner water. Lemon or strawberry would be the flavor I would like to try.

ReplyDeleteRaspberry! Definitely my favorite flavor. :)

And we have well water, so filtering the water we drink is a must. I typically take the filtered water and add flavor to it, by having this pitcher I'd be eliminating the extra step! :)

This would be perfect for me - I need to invest in a pitcher since our normally good tap water has been tasting not-so-great recently. As for what appeals to me about it - everything you mentioned! Saves money, saves water bottles from hitting the landfill, and keeps cold, great tasting water on hand. Thanks for the giveaway!

I think the most appealing benefit is the cleaner water... I usually drink tap water anyway, to avoid costs and waste. The flavor option would be a huge bonus too!

The Lemon flavor looks great! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI would like the grape, my hubby would definitely go for the raspberry and my boys would like them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Many benefits - adding flavor to the water without adding extra calories is cool. Using less plastic bottles is great for the ecosystem, and saving money is great for the budget. Plus, our tap water is okay for cooking and brushing teeth, but for drinking I just don't like the taste of it. So improved taste thanks to the filtering and/or flavoring would be the best benefit to me. It would help me drink more water!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry definitely!
ReplyDeleteDrinking cleaner water is the most important thing for me and my kids. Here in LA our tap is sooo gross, it comes out with little pebbles and black soot!

P.S. The Anonymous post September 5 @ 2:08p.m. was me. I was silly and forgot to include my e-mail address. Sorry!
Thanks again!
Having a pitcher to filter out water would save me money at work. I bring bottled water now and reuse the bottle all day. This would help by not having the bottle at all and saving the landfill.
