Decorating Dilemma Solved - CSN Stores

Last month I wrote about the mismatched lamp that we were using on our nightstand. I got some great suggestions with ideas to fix it; however, before I got to try any of them, another opportunity arose.

Thanks to CSN Stores (they sell all kinds of products, but this opportunity focused on home decor and mirrors), I had a chance to review a new lamp.

I think it looks much better here than the old lamp did! I like that it's kind of tall without being so imposing.

Here are a few details about this lamp:
  • With the shade, this lamp stands nearly 29" tall.
  • The shade itself is about 8" tall.
  • The lamp can take a bulb up to 60 watts.
  • The on/off switch is rotary style (turn it to turn the lamp on or off).
  • Some assembly is required.
  • Weight: 12 pounds (according to Specs on the product page)

Pros and Cons:

This lamp is a good fit for this space. It's value-priced (currently less than $45, free shipping), which is a major plus. With that low price, I'm willing to accept that it's not as heavyweight as a pricier lamp might be. The center section (the fluted "stem"), especially, feels lightweight. Even with the lighter weight, it still feels stable; however, I might not use it where kids are likely to bump into it and knock it over. It's brand new, so I can't evaluate its durability.

Ordering and Delivery:

I was happy with the communication from CSN Stores. I received email messages to confirm my order, to confirm shipment, and to ask for feedback. The shipment confirmation included a UPS tracking number, so I knew exactly when to expect the product to arrive. When the lamp arrived, it was packaged very securely. The assembly instructions were simple and easy to follow.

Disclosure: I received this lamp, at no cost to me, for review purposes.
