Jersey Devil Tomatoes

Since I've been talking about the Jersey Devil tomato plant that we're growing this year, I thought you might be interested in what the tomatoes look like. It was advertised as a red plum tomato, and it is--but with a twist.

The tomatoes all have that pointy kind of shape, and they're meaty tomatoes. I chopped them into chili and we've used them on sandwiches.

I'd grow Jersey Devil tomatoes again, if I can find the plants. The only change I'd make is to give the plant more space: it's a gigantic plant that needs about twice as much space (and a larger cage) than other tomato plants.

  1. From what I remember back home in Philly, Jersey tomatoes always had the best flavor!
