Awards and the Honest Scrap

Over the last couple of weeks I've been blessed with awards from two bloggy friends.

First, a belated Thanks to Angie over at My Four Monkeys. Check out her blog for fun family stories and great giveaways!

Here are the rules of this award:
  • This award is bestowed on to blogs that are exceedingly charming.

  • These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends.

  • They are not interested in self-aggrandizement.

  • Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated.

  • Please give more attention to these writers.

  • Deliver this award to six bloggers who must choose six more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I am passing this award to all of my bloggy friends who read this. I've found so many charming, sweet, generous friends in this community--I can't choose just six without leaving someone out.

And thanks to Heather at Adventures Across a Sea of Blue for this:

Here are the rules:

  • Thank the award giver

  • Copy the logo and place on your blog

  • Link back to the award giver/s

  • Name 10 things about you that people may find interesting

  • Nominate and link up to 10 other blogs for this award

  • Comment on each blog to tell them about the award!

That fourth part is the hard one! Let me see what I can think of:

  1. Some of you might remember this: My first full-time job was as a dental assistant. That lasted for a week or two before I realized that it was not the job for me.

  2. After that I worked as a lab tech, working with samples of fun stuff like sewage and analyzing slides for asbestos fibers. One of the chemists took me under her wing and taught me enough that, when she left the company, I was able to take over her job.

  3. I've had more than my share of medical procedures and tests, but I'm okay now!

  4. I grew up going to church but didn't know Christ in a personal way until I was in my thirties.

  5. I used to be a freelance motorsports journalist. I quit doing that when I got married.

  6. Fresh fruits and vegetables are, for me, the only good part of summer.

  7. I am not quite 5'3" tall.

  8. My hair reaches almost to my waist, and it's less than two years since I cut off a ponytail for Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I would have cut my hair short years ago, but my husband likes it this way. (We couldn't afford the frequent haircuts, anyway. LOL)

  9. I'm allergic to avocado and I dislike mushrooms.

  10. My husband once shook hands with country singer Tim McGraw. My son once shook hands with country singer Keith Urban. We all got to meet the members of Big Daddy Weave and MercyMe.

This, too, I'm passing along to all of my blog readers and fellow bloggers. If you'd like to take up this challenge and share some fun facts about yourself, please do. Be sure to come back and let me know so I can come see what you've written!
