Crossing Paths

When I wrote "3 Things You Might Not Know About Me," I wrote that my husband and I had crossed paths at least once, years before we actually met. Amanda left a comment to suggest that I write a post about how that happened. As I thought about how to write more than two sentences about it, I realized something interesting.

My husband and I grew up in the same state, but not in the same town or even neighboring towns. However, we both went to the same computer-geek festival at least one year. We went to the same motorsports show one year. When we actually met, though, it was not at a computer fair, a motorsports show, or a race: we met online.

What I realized as I thought about this post was--although I wasn't walking with Christ at the time--everything happened in God's perfect timing. When I was 21 or 25 or 28, the time wasn't right for to meet my husband. I didn't know that at the time, but God did! I still marvel at the knowledge that He was looking out for me, even when I wasn't giving Him a second thought.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

  1. Oh, how cool is that?! What a neat post, and even cooler that you recognize God's timing. :) It's definitely not always the way I have things planned out, but I guess He knows better, huh? ;)

  2. it's odd, the people that i know that have been married a long time, ALL say the same thing- that their passed crossed only they didnt realize it til after they were married.....

my husband sat behind me when we were both in a combined HS band concert and we both forgot about til after we got married- he had pix, i had cassette tape of the concert-freaky!

  3. Same happened to us! Interesting, isn't it? God is everywhere and all-knowing!

I love to hear what you're thinking, so thank you for leaving a comment!
