We found a new church home in late 2007, and we have been incredibly blessed to be part of the church family. One specific blessing has been the music ministry for kids. My son is finishing his first year in the kids' choir. Next year he'll be outside the age range for the kids' choir, and he'll be moving on to another program in September. So I'd like to share about the wonderful kids' choir leaders, Mrs. H and Mrs. E.
We are so blessed that they give freely of their time and talents to teach and encourage the children in the choir. Mrs. E and Mrs. H have identified each child's gifts, and they've helped the children nurture those gifts and use them to serve God. My son has enjoyed singing with the choir, participating in a musical show, and ministering to the congregation through music.
I'm thankful that he's had this opportunity to learn, grow, and serve the Lord. I'm thankful for the leaders, not only for teaching but also for showing God's love on an ongoing basis. (I don't want to leave out our minister of music, who oversees the program. He's not as hands-on with the kids' choir, but he knows every one of the kids and encourages them in other ways.) My entire family has been blessed through my son's involvement in the choir.
As a side note, may I ask for your prayers about the financial situation I mentioned on Tuesday? We are praying that the Lord's will is done, and that--if the outcome is not what we'd like it to be--we'll be able to surrender to His plan and to know which direction He wants us to go.

ReplyDeletePrayers on the way!! A good church home really makes a difference. I love going to church and having fellowship with friends.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you've given recognition to the ladies that worked with your son in choir. So often kids are really affected by adults other than their parents. I know when I was growing up, a couple of the ladies at church took us to events and really were the "unofficial" youth leaders at our small church. I'll be forever grateful to them - they kept me involved in church!
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for you and I rejoice with you that you have found such a wonderful church home where your children are being ministered to! Praise God!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing it is to have a church where the kids are loved on and nurtured. That is a huge thing we love about our church, too! Just said a prayer for your financial situation and God's provision and peace for your family!
ReplyDeleteSweet blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteprayed for you, melissa.
