This photo shows the first strawberry that my son picked from his strawberry plants. He's been growing them in a strawberry jar on the patio, and he waited so patiently for this to ripen! He put quarters next to it, so you could see how big the berry is.
I installed the new SwagBucks widget on my blog, but it's too wide to fit in the sidebar. As a result, it's all the way at the bottom of the page. It has links to check for current Swag Codes, to search the Web, and to sign up. (In a few days we're going to have a special exclusive bonus code for new members, so check back then.) By the way, my SwagBucks balance reached 45 SB, so I traded them for an Amazon.com gift card. That's why the SwagBucks widget shows my SB balance as zero for now.
This is the birthday card I made for my mother-in-law:
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the pattern paper is a pale green. I wish I'd seen the photo of TammyLee's card before I made this one: I would have inked the edges of the pink paper before I attached it (with pop-up dots). The embossing on the bottom edge is done with the Cuttlebug, using a fun set of border-embossing folders. The name of the set escapes me, but if you're curious let me know and I'll look it up.
My mother-in-law is coming over on Sunday afternoon to celebrate her birthday, so I made the same chocolate-strawberry-whipped cream cake that I've been talking about all month. (This is the third one I've made! Baking for my mother-in-law can be stressful because she's an amazing baker and former Pillsbury Bake-Off finalist. But she appreciates a good cake and understands that recipes don't always turn out the way they should.) Afterward we're all meeting my parents at our church for a special musical event. I'm really looking forward to it!
What fun did you have this weekend?
Tell that boy of yours I'm impressed with his strawberry! :) I bet he's proud as a peacock!! :)
