Berry Tart with Pastry Cream (recipe link)

When we visited Disney World, my then-10-year-old loved this fruit tart from the Kringla bakery in Epcot:

We finally tried making something similar at home. I used the recipe for Strawberry Tart with Pastry Cream from How To Cook Everything, but there's a similar recipe here.

This was a hit with my family and our guests! I forgot to remove the outside of the pan before I took the picture, but you get the idea:



The recipe suggests variations including brushing the crust with melted chocolate before filling it and adding a layer of sliced bananas under the pastry cream. Both of those sound good to me!

  6. This looks delicious- I can' wait to try it!! My mother-in-law brought home one of these tarts from Wegmans near us and I bet it cost a small fortune!!
