Recipe Review: Super Easy Pork Chops

On Menu Plan Monday this week, I listed a new-to-me recipe for pork chops. I cooked them on Friday, and I'd say the recipe was just okay. With some modifications, though, it could be very good.

The meat was tender and the flavor was thoroughly infused. We thought it was too salty, even with only 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and water instead of chicken broth.

I also had to add more water about halfway through the cooking time, because there was hardly any liquid left in the crockpot. I'd start out with more liquid next time. I didn't use the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce: we just dribbled it over plain rice.

The recipe was very easy, and I'd try it again with less soy sauce, more water, and maybe more garlic to boost the flavor. The aroma from the slow cooker also reminded me of another recipe--Honey-Basil Chicken--which I hope to post next week.
