Friday's Fave Five

I just discovered this meme, and it sounds like fun! The idea is to list our five favorite things from the past week, so here are mine:

1. Mother's Day: My husband and son made the day wonderful for me. My husband not only took us out to lunch on Saturday, but brought home pizza on Sunday. I didn't have to cook all weekend! My son baked a cake for the occasion. So thoughtful.

2. The chance to work in the garden with my son: He helped me prepare the garden for the season and did most of the heavy work: he removed the ground cover, loosened the soil with a rake, and raked in the compost and lime. We replaced the ground cover, so we'll be ready to plant in the next week or two.

3. The phone call from my mom, telling me that my dad is okay, and the revelation that accompanied the events of that day.

4. My awful sinus headache that WENT AWAY!

5. The last day of school--almost. There are loose ends to tie up, but we're nearly finished.

  5. Sweet of your hubby to give you a weekend off of cooking!

Glad to hear that your Dad is alright. It's always scary to get a phone call that tells us a parent is in the hospital.

  6. Thanks for commenting on my blog - and it's too bad Cellfire isn't using stores in your area. Hopefully soon! It's still a relatively new program.

This is a great idea for a post!

I am so glad for your family that your dad is just fine. Having received one of those phone calls from my dad about my mom 3 years ago, this brought back memories. Mine didn't end the way we would have wanted, but my heart goes out to anyone who gets one of those calls.
