Cannoli Cream Puffs

I just discovered a brilliant idea online.

No surprise here: I like almost all kinds of pastry, including cannoli. When a friend of mine (whom I haven't seen in years) used to own an Italian deli, we'd eat the creamy filling by the spoonful. The filling seems easy to make, but the shells aren't something that I can easily make at home.

I just stumbled upon this recipe at Foodista. It never occurred to me to fill cream puffs with cannoli filling! Even though we've had something similar from a bakery, I never thought to try it at home. It was one of those V-8 moments ... well, without the vegetables.
