I don't always do this, but I still recommend it!
I purchase large packages of ground beef when it's on sale. I brown the meat, sometimes with onion. I cool it in the refrigerator, then divide the meat into meal-size portions in freezer bags. This saves a bunch of time when I need ground beef to make tacos, chili, spaghetti sauce, and so on.

I've never done this, but I hear it works well. I may have to start doing it though to cut down on time in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
That is exactly what I do except we usually use ground turkey. Sometimes I don't even divide just put in a baggie and then take out what I need. It really is a time saver!
ReplyDeleteI buy in bulk, but have never cooked it all up. I usually just divide it up and freeze it uncooked. Your idea sounds so much more efficient!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip!
:)
I guess we do have some things in common. Cooking several pounds of ground beef at a time and then freezing it is my #1 sanity saver when it comes to fixing dinners. It takes less than a minute to thaw in the microwave, and I don't have to clean up a greasy mess!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips.
