Stamp Out Hunger

I just read that 35 million Americans are hungry or living on the brink of hunger. While I make frugal decisions daily, I realize that there are many families who have much less than my family does. I try to prepare inexpensive meals, but there are others who struggle to put food on the table at all.

If you live in the United States, the National Association of Letter Carriers is making it easy for you to contribute to your local food banks.

When: Saturday, May 9
How: Place bag(s) of non-perishable food items next to your mailbox. Your letter carrier will pick them up and deliver them to local food banks.

If you'd like more details, see the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive website. While you're there, you can also grab this nifty logo or a countdown widget for your own blog.
