Grocery shopping

Since today was grocery day, it's a good time to share my strategy for saving on grocery bills. I wish I could tell you that I have some amazing tricks to save fistfuls of dollars, but I don't. My favorite way to save money is to stock up when items are on sale, and don't buy anything that's not on sale. Sometimes, of course, I'll miscalculate and realize that I'm using the last box of pasta--but in general, this works.

This week, for example, my supermarket has no deals on meat or non-perishable foods. So I shopped only in the produce aisle, the dairy department, and the bread aisle. I'll rely on the meat that's already in my freezer and the non-perishables that I already have on hand. (Although I say "I," of course I actually mean "we": my family.) I spent about $30 and yes, that total includes about $5 of half-price Easter candy.
